Sunderland-based healthcare marketing agency IGNIFI is pleased to announce the addition of Charlotte Tinmouth to their team as a Medical Account Executive. Charlotte, who has recently completed her second year of a Biomedical Science degree at the University of Sheffield, has been appointed for a one-year work placement.
Charlotte was keen to utilise her scientific knowledge and skills in an agency setting after finding out about IGNIFI and the careers available following her attendance at the online Bionow Careers Fair earlier this year. The Bionow event was the perfect opportunity for Charlotte to learn more about the careers available post-graduation, with speakers from larger pharmaceutical companies to smaller professional service companies that support the life sciences industry.
IGNIFI’s presentation at the event was led by Senior Account Manager and Biomedical Science graduate Ellie Gratton. Ellie highlighted the opportunities for science students to use their knowledge in an alternative sector such as healthcare marketing, discussing her own career progression from Biomedical Science graduate to Senior Account Manager. This provided reassurance to Charlotte that careers in life sciences don’t always involve lab coats and blue gloves. Having a similar educational background to Ellie, Charlotte was keen to discuss further how she might be able to use her scientific knowledge and skills whilst learning more about healthcare marketing in an agency environment.
After visiting IGNIFI and meeting the team, Charlotte was eager to learn more about healthcare marketing and undertake a one-year work placement before returning to university to complete her biomed degree. Alongside her contributions to projects through copywriting, proofreading and general support to the client services team, she has also been learning more about Veeva, a global software used within the life sciences industry. Charlotte has adapted well to working in a fast-paced agency environment and since gaining certification in Veeva, has been providing support on these projects, whilst building expertise in medical copywriting through her involvement in client content development-related tasks.
“This appointment demonstrates our commitment to identifying and developing talent for the future which aligns with our growth strategy. The Bionow Careers Fair gave us the opportunity to showcase a range of unique role options for consideration by an audience at a key stage of their educational journey.”
John Horn, IGNIFI Managing Director
