I’m Chief Executive of Bionow having founded the business in 2011 to further represent the interests of the Northern biomedical cluster and enable Bionow members to be the most productive and competitive in the world. Having led the business through establishment I have overall responsibility for all aspects of Bionow and focus on our strategic aim to be the leading biomedical membership organisation in terms of reputation, service and impact. I am regularly invited to advise and comment on industry requirements and represent the Bionow membership both regionally and nationally. I therefore welcome contact with businesses and individuals from across the sector and beyond.
Head of Business Development and Engagement
I head up the Business Development function at Bionow working with the Membership Managers and the Bionow team to help Members increase their competitiveness. I manage the relationships, foster collaborations and promote our University Sponsors and Preferred Partners and work closely with many of our larger companies. I also lead on delivery of our Business Support services including our Member networking platform BionowB2B. I am the Membership Manager for the Northwest of England and North Wales. I work with Members to increase their competitiveness. This is achieved by cost savings from the products and services we deliver as well as the specialist business support Mentoring and Student Placements. As Membership Manager for the North East and Yorkshire I am responsible for the recruitment and development of Members within this geographical area. I work with Members to make the most of their Bionow membership through accessing business support services, identifying opportunities for collaboration, event attendance and to gain value through Bionow’s preferred partners. I support Bionow’s relationships with key stakeholders in the region which includes delivering services to our University Sponsors. Events and Marketing Manager
I am responsible for the event management and communications at Bionow. From major conferences to the prestigious Bionow annual awards dinner and smaller networking events, I plan and execute each event taking responsibility for the creative, technical and logistic elements. Communication to our members is essential and I also take the lead on the Bionow website, newsletter, e-marketing and life sciences directory. Ensuring our members are receiving the right levels of communication and networking opportunities is key, so if you think we are missing a trick get in touch I am always keen to hear from you.

I'm an AAT qualified accountant with over 14 years experience in various accountancy roles. I joined the Bionow team in November 2013 having worked previously for accountancy practices based in London, Leeds and Manchester. As the Financial Controller I am responsible for ensuring that the financial side of Bionow is running smoothly and efficiently and am the primary contact for any financial questions.

I lead on Special Projects which includes Bionow’s involvement in an EU Atlantic Area Project - A Transnational Advanced Pilot Manufacturing Ecosystem for Future Biomedical Products. Atlantic KET Med (AKM) is bringing new, high tech, pilot production capacity to the EU Atlantic Area in support of SMEs and Start-ups using the Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) to produce next generation medical devices. I am continuing as a Director of Bionow and supporting handover of my previous role to the new Head of Business Development & Engagement.
I provide financial coaching and support to Bionow, partnering with the team at both a strategic and operational level. We work together as a team to ensure that Bionow provides its members excellent value and is the leading biomedical membership organisation in terms of reputation, service and impact - both now and in the future.
