The network aims to connect businesses across Greater Manchester working on their environmental footprint to come together to accelerate positive action towards a greener, sustainable future. Through cross sector collaboration and localised partnerships, the 7 key themes the initiative focuses on addressing are carbon in energy, carbon in the built environment, circular economy, nature, food and water, transport, and finance.
As a member, Apollo will be connected with likeminded businesses who share the same sustainability ambitions to collaborate and work together on taking action to improve the impact they have on the environment and community. The network will also enable them to join forces with other companies and professionals across a wide range of industries in Greater Manchester in acting as a collective voice for the region, feeding back on key green issues to central government.
Over the past couple of years, Apollo has been on a journey to become a more sustainable company, transforming its business practises to improve its social and environmental impact to create a better future for all its stakeholders. In joining the network, it hopes to encourage bolder action and drive meaningful change towards healthier, safer and sustainable communities in the local area.
Neil Hamilton CEO / President said “As a business, we recognise the role we play in enhancing the communities and environment we operate in and are committed to ensuring the impact we have on them is a positive one. We’re excited to have joined the Business Green Scene and look forward to expanding our network with others motivated to create fundamental social and environmental change to improve the local community in Greater Manchester for future generations to come.”
