As well as taking actions to reduce its footprint through reducing the resources it uses, reducing waste and switching to renewable energy, unavoidable emissions have been offset through two projects: Gyapa Efficient Cookstoves in Ghana and Clean Water and Cooking in Guatemala.

About the Gyapa Efficient Cookstoves, Ghana project
This project provides efficient cookstoves and water filters that can reduce a household’s fuel consumption and emissions by over half. Families benefit from less indoor smoke from each meal, and the need to boil water before drinking is entirely eliminated.

About the Clean Water and Cooking, Guatemala project.
This project, which was the first Gold Standard water treatment or cookstove project in the country, distributes water filters and stoves that enable access to clean water and improve cooking conditions by increasing fuel efficiency and reducing harmful indoor air pollution.
