Ana Beatriz Fernandes joins Cryoniss as a Scientific Intern, and Daniel Jones as our Finance Intern.
Ana has just completed her first year at the University of Sussex where she is studying for a BSc in Biomedical Sciences. Moving from Portugal in 2016, Anna decided to continue her studies in the UK. A strong advocate of women in science, she has a keen interest in the workings of the human mind.
Ana is already well imbedded in the team at Cryoniss, helping write scientific articles, interviewing customers and working on the customer relationship management system. Ana commented, “This is a great experience for me. Sonia and the team have been very welcoming and I’m looking forward to the next few weeks learning all I can about the customer facing side of commercial business”.
Daniel has completed his second year of a BA in Economics and Politics at the Lancaster University Management School. Politics flows in Daniel’s veins and he was selected as a candidate for the 2019 local elections. A Treasurer of the University Political Society, Daniel joins Cryoniss to help the company migrate to a new financial system. Daniel noted, “This is a great opportunity for me to find out more about the financial workings of a commercial business. I wasn’t sure how being in lockdown would pan out but working remotely has been straightforward. I’m glad Sonia and her team has introduced me to other aspects of the business as well. It’s a fantastic insight into how a business really works.”
Sonia Houghton, CEO at Cryoniss added, “They are both brilliant. I’m so glad I took the plunge and recruited them. There is such a lot to do in a growing business. Giving them that business understanding will hopefully help them in their future career choices.”
