Following a hugely successful pilot, the RISE 1+1 Summer Placement Programme is now running for its second year! We are once again looking for employers who are in a position to create developmental opportunities for first year students over the summer. The emphasis behind these opportunities is that they are designed to provide an experience for a student who potentially has never worked previously and is still at the early stages of their academic career. We are encouraging employers to create opportunities that will not only provide an opportunity to develop a students’ technical skills but also the opportunity to develop their softer skills too. Roles can be project based, or involve working as part of a wider team, we recognise that employers operate differently and therefore, we are keen to let employers create what they consider a developmental experience so long as students are supported appropriately and given the opportunity to develop whilst in post.
We do have funding available to support the creation of roles, this funding would be allocated towards either partially funding, or fully funding opportunities that are felt to be suitable.
