Expert training from the university in Flow Cytometry provides support to overcome cancer’s toughest challenges. Molecular Partners (https://www.molecularpartners.com/) are the developers of the DARPin® platform, a novel way to target specific proteins within the cell. With a primary focus on new oncology therapeutics Molecular Partners are driving to overcome cancer’s toughest challenges.

The company’s development pipeline requires the use of a wide range of scientific technologies and techniques and as such, they need to constantly train and upskill their employees.  The FCCF has provided a wealth of expertise and experience in all areas of flow cytometry to provide Molecular Partners’ staff with detailed, training services which perfectly suit their needs.

The importance of getting the right training on the right instrumentation is vital to giving scientists the best possible tools and experience to get the best possible data. Keeping the skill level of all relevant staff high, and allowing all staff to train with experts in the field is paramount to making a workplace efficient.

After the training, one participant said:

“…actually I liked the virtual training more than the training in person last year. Everyone got the same view during the training on the machine. As well,  more people could attend the training from your side, so multiple speakers, which would not be possible to have on site. All in all great training”

The Newcastle FCCF team is led by Dr Andrew Filby, an internationally-recognised expert who is the council member responsible for method development and technology at the International Society for the Advancement of Cytometry. His team focuses on a range of techniques including fluorescence cytometry, mass cytometry, metabolimetry and imaging cytometry.

By offering training and sample acquisition services to those who need it the FCCF aims to reduce the barrier between a good idea and getting good data.

We welcome enquiries from organisations looking to learn about Flow Cytometry in general, or undertaking training in particular.  For more information, please go to https://www.ncl.ac.uk/fccf/ or contact us directly at fccf@ncl.ac.uk.
