Tiro, a leading training provider for science and technology apprenticeships, has launched new degree apprenticeships to address chronic skills shortages in the science sector across the UK. The training will focus on roles related to the chemical industry, environmental sciences, and biosciences, with Laboratory Scientist and Material Science Technologist apprenticeships initially being offered. These new level 6 programs will be delivered in partnership with Middlesex University.
The level 6 programs will lead to one of three awards:
The demand for science and tech skills in the UK continues to grow rapidly. Data shows that by 2030, the Life Sciences sector has the potential to create around 133,000 new jobs, the Chemical sector 106,000, and the Green Revolution 480,000. Our new degree apprenticeships will provide employers with the opportunity to upskill and retain motivated professionals.
These new degree apprenticeships will build upon the existing Level 3 and 4 programs, which have consistently placed candidates in roles with major companies.
"Our new degree apprenticeships are designed to combine applied practice in future-proofed science roles with a solid foundation of knowledge that can serve as the basis for a successful career. Our programs offer an alternative to graduate schemes for top future talent who want to earn while they learn," said Charlotte Blant, Founder and CEO at Tiro.
