We’re a big believer in working with clients for the long term. Our goal is to contribute to their success by providing the peace of mind that comes with having appropriate protection in place, and at the right levels. One such Life Science client is Alderley Analytical, who were introduced to us by Bionow, who act as the voice of the northern Life Sciences industry and are front and centre in promoting collaboration within the region.
Rob Black, Development Director at C&C, first met with the four founders of Alderley Analytical in an empty room, at Alderley Park during January 2014 - before they’d even moved into their first laboratory space! The company was a start-up, with two of the founders having worked for the recently vacated Astra Zeneca at Alderley Park and the other two for a company called ICON based in central Manchester, and whilst they could easily describe in detail what a mass spectrometer covers, understanding insurance cover was a different molecular beast altogether!
Rob brought his Life Science insurance knowledge to the table and arranged the first cover for the fledgling business. Our relationship with this client has continued to grow, sharing their journey with each expansion, as they required ever increasing amounts of space and indemnity cover. Alderley Analytical are now one of our longest standing Life Science insurance clients and Rob has recently helped secure cover for their new home at the Tytherington Business Park in Macclesfield. The new space features purpose-built, state-of-the-art laboratories, which more than double the footprint of their previous facility.
Rob Black says: “From the very beginning, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with Paul and the other Alderley Analytical founders. Their vision was clear from the start which allowed me to gain a thorough understanding of their insurance requirements. It’s been a privilege to have shared their journey so far and I have no doubt that their success will continue way into the future.”
Paul Holme, CEO and Co-Founder of Alderley Analytical says: “The move into our new premises allows us to enter the next phase of our growth and development knowing we have the space to expand. Rob and C&C have been with us on this journey from just the four of us to now approaching 55 members of staff. We can’t thank him enough for his continued support, insight and his experience of the Life Science insurance sector, which he’s always applied. A move of this scale wasn’t without challenges but thankfully, from a personal point of view, insurance wasn’t one of them. Knowing that something as important as our insurance is in safe hands, means that we can concentrate on what we do best - bioanalysis.”
As you can see, Paul sounds very happy with the support he’s received over the years. And by a happy coincidence, the top selling single of 2014 - the year C&C were introduced to Alderley Analytical - was ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams. If that isn’t chemistry, what is?
