On 6th July, 2019, our Business Development Manager, Ken Perona, will celebrate a milestone 40th birthday by running 40 miles to raise £1000 for The Multiple Sclerosis Society. Perfectus Biomed are supporting this event by encouraging runners and non-runners alike to join him for portions of the route. For each mile ran, Perfectus Biomed will donate to Woundcare4Heroes, a charity helping physically injured veterans in England and Wales by providing one-to-one wound care and helping them get the ongoing care they need by supporting their families and healthcare teams.
Ken is an avid runner, with a total of 8 marathons under his belt, so he was eager to take on the challenge of 40 consecutive miles. He chose to support the MS Society to commemorate a loved one who sadly suffered from MS.
‘Last year, I had a family member in the USA pass on from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. The charity is close to home for me, so in commemoration, along with running 40 miles, I am raising £1000 for MS research via the MS Society charity. It is amazing and heart-warming that so many have agreed to join me already, and that Perfectus and WoundCare4Heroes have decided to get involved’.
Ken is inviting anybody who would like to take part in this challenge to join him at any point along the 40-mile route. He has put together suggested routes to choose from, consisting of a 5k, 10k, and two half-marathon routes. For those of us who would much rather support from the side-lines, a ‘fun & friendly’ finish mile will take place where walking, running, cycling, roller booting, and fancy dress are all welcomed and encouraged. Each route begins and ends at the same location, The Red lion pub in Warrington, so there’s always the option to support from inside the pub with a burger and a beer!

We are super proud of the effort and commitment Ken has put into this event, and so Perfectus Biomed will be donating for every person who joins Ken at any point along the 40-mile route. The money raised will be donated to Woundcare4Heroes, who provide specialist wound care to rebuild the lives of physically injured ex-service men and women. We asked Ken what this meant for him:
‘Raising money and awareness for MS is great, but I’m motivated to get a bigger community involved. I want to share this experience to get other people running and so I was over the moon when Perfectus Biomed offered to donate for every mile run in support of Woundcare4Heroes. This challenges me to promote the event enough to really increase the fund raising! Please come and join me!’
The run will kick-off from The Red Lion pub in Warrington on Saturday 6th July 2019 at 8:00am. Everybody is welcome (even the non-runners) as we would love all your support! Please Sign up if interested.
Thank you all for your support so far, from Ken and the rest of the Perfectus Biomed team!
