Industry & Innovation Showcase
The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) were delighted to host a great event in May as a part of their partnership with ABHI, showcasing industry and innovation.
Employing over 28,000 staff, and with over 3 million patient visits each year, MFT is part of The Shelford Group and delivers hospital and community care to over 957,000 patients across Greater Manchester.
Senior leaders from MFT, MFT Research and Innovation, innovation industry experts, and ABHI members convened to highlight Manchester's position as a leading hub for healthcare innovation. Through examples of current partnership and a strong track record of successful, real-world collaborations with industry, a clear ability to support HealthTech innovators and attract new innovators, collaborators and partners was demonstrated.

HealthTech Roadshow
The HealthTech roadshow event took place in Manchester last month, in collaboration with Imperial College London and ABHI.
This session formed part of a national series following the launch of a joint report with the new Centre for Sectoral Economic Performance at Imperial College London, which explores how bold, targeted policies can elevate HealthTech’s role in driving economic growth.
HealthTech already contributes £13bn in GVA to the UK economy, but its full potential is still largely untapped. The goal through these workshops is to bring together local innovators, NHS partners, academics and government to shape actionable strategies that support innovation, commercialisation, and system-wide adoption.
The event heard from voices across Greater Manchester’s dynamic ecosystem. Their insights will now be combined with outputs from other regional events to ensure a joined-up, national vision that reflects local priorities.
