Bionow's Owain Walsh completes gruelling 260-mile cycle from London to Bruges! On 8th May, along with 22 riders, Owain Walsh headed off to Bruges for the inaugural networking bike ride for the Bio and Pharma industry in aid of Action Medical Research and supported by Bionow member Appleyard Lees.

Catalyst riders tackled a 3-day, 260 mile route taking in rolling countryside in England, France and Belgium, as well as tackling some of the famous Belgian Murs, including the iconic climbs of Koppenberg, Paterberg, and Kwaremont on the final day, just in time for the Bio€quity conference!

Speaking about his experience, Owain commented: "The ride was a truly epic three days, with some tasty headwinds, bone-shaking Belgium cobbles, and a few well placed bollards! But it was all worthwhile knowing we were pedaling for a worthy cause and, of course, a fine Belgian beer at the end.I wanted to say a huge thank you to the team at Action Medical Research for organising such a rewarding experience. It was awesome riding in such great company and all for a charity that funds vital medical research to save and change the lives of babies and children facing serious illnesses. They've been instrumental in major breakthroughs like the UK polio vaccine and continue to make a difference.

And of course, a big shout-out to Appleyard Lees for the opportunity to join this adventure. It was a pleasure riding alongside a great team and fellow riders such as Nick Hutchinson, Darcey Black, Chris Nutman, Sarah Gibbs, Richard Maclennan, and Rachel Mercer
