Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming recruitment, especially in the early careers space, where Gen Z and younger candidates are entering the workforce with new expectations and behaviours.   

As employers and candidates alike adapt to the growing influence of AI in recruitment processes, from talent discovery and selection to job applications and assessments, SRG’s new report, AI in Early Careers Talent Acquisition, explores how embracing the rise of AI can improve recruitment outcomes, support inclusivity and build future-ready workforces.       

The report's findings, which delve into insights from both employer and candidate perspectives, highlight awareness and attitudes towards artificial intelligence in recruitment and workforce management. It also explores the current and potential future uses of AI in recruitment and Early Careers hiring, as well as the impact of technology on applications and assessments, and more.  

 
Key Highlights include:  

  • Employer and Candidate perspectives: 76% of employers found AI somewhat or very effective; 72% of 24,000 students asked felt comfortable using AI.   
  • The use of AI in recruitment processes: 85% of HR leaders are confident that AI will improve recruitment outcomes.  
  • Balancing AI with human approaches: 47% of students asked would use AI for CV and Cover Letter creation, whilst expecting a human-based approach to interviewing and assessments.
