The HiDRO-ACT (Hydrogel Injectability and Drug Release Optimised for Advancing Cancer Treatment) project is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research endeavour that will enable a priori design of functional injectable hydrogel materials, revolutionising how these are engineered for minimally invasive and controlled drug delivery applications. It will achieve this through the following key contributions:

Advancement of Fundamental Science: By exploring the underlying fuid mechanics of hydrogel injection and their rheological responses under deformation, this research will offer new knowledge and insights into these materials' fundamental properties and their role in injectivity.

Development of an Innovative Predictive Tool: We will create a physics-informed, data-driven machine learning models to transform the complex relationships between material properties and functionality (e.g., injectivity and drug release) into intuitive input-output maps, predicted over an extensive parameter space that would not otherwise be possible through traditional computational simulations and experimental methods.

We are seeking to foster a strong collaboration with an industry partner to translate the outcomes of the proposed HiDRO-ACT research project into societal and economic impact.

Likewise, the industry partner can beneft from the research outcomes and learning of the project, be a member of the industrial advisory board and have a voice in the direct of the project, or directly involved in every stage of the development of the project.

These can be achieved if your company provides cash or in-kind contributions:

● Staff Time - Domain expertise, such as engineers or researchers to assist with the project.

● Equipment, Supplies, Facilities - Specialized equipment, tools, or materials needed for the research.

● Data and Resources - Sharing proprietary data that supports the research objectives.
