Last night, I went to the 10th Asians in Tech event which was an inspiring event with young start-up entrepreneurs eager to pitch to seasoned billionaires giving advice on the power of resilience what to avoid in business. The evening was filled with phenomenal demo exhibitions, an inspiring keynote speaker, fantastic elevator pitches, and the prestigious awards celebrating Top 100 ASIAN Starts in UK Tech, ASIAN Tech Pioneers & Tech Showcase.
“Your achievements are incredibly well-deserved. Keep pushing boundaries and doing great things. We champion diversity and celebrate the innovative spirit you bring to the tech industry” explained the Asians in Tech Team.
I was honoured to be awarded as one of the Asian Tech Pioneers. As they put it ‘Dr. Khan is a leading biotech entrepreneur, who has founded companies focused on Alzheimer’s Drug and Diagnostic development to AI based diagnosis in cancer and diabetes to manufacturing of biologics/cultivating meat using plant based recombinant technology.’
‘Dr. Khan is the CEO of PharmaKure, a clinical stage pharmaceutical company developing precision medicines for Alzheimer’s Disease announced that the UK Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has granted Clinical Trial Authorisation (CTA) for it to commence a study to evaluate safety and tolerability of its treatment for the treatment of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Recently it has developed blood-based biomarkers for diagnosing Alzheimer’s 10-15 years before symptoms occur.’
The event was inspirational, with the greatest respect to the tireless - Lopa Patel MBE, deputy Chair, Ramesh Vala CBE and trustees: Sareeta Vala, Vimla Appadoo and Francesca Jus-Burke and the sponsors.
It amazes me what the UK Asians have achieved in all manner of businesses. For once, I felt like an extended family. A kaleidoscope of melanin and I felt no impostor syndrome for the first time-just like-minded people simply wanting to make the world a better place!
