Artificial Intelligence and Organisational Learning in Innovation: Evidence from drug discovery Project Description
This is a research project funded by the University of Manchester and the Research and Development Management Association (RADMA). The aim of the research is to understand how AI-based technologies (e.g., machine learning, deep learning) might be changing how the organisation innovates as well as impacts on existing knowledge, experiences, skills, and innovation capabilities for new knowledge creation at individual and organisational levels. We also want to explore managerial, ethical, and corporate governance issues related to the development and use of AI-based technologies. We are particularly interested to work with companies in the drug discovery. The project has been approved by the Ethical Committee of Alliance Manchester Business School (Ref: 2023-18457-32270) as part of the doctoral programme of Ms Hien Thu Dao.

What do we need?
We would like to interview managers and professionals working in drug discovery projects in your organisation such as project/programme/lab leaders/managers, PIs, scientists, post-doc researchers, PhD researchers, technicians, software developers, and administrative staffs. We will ask them to talk through their perspective on the development and use of AI in drug discovery and how the AI-based technology they are developing and/or using has affected their work, their existing knowledge, and their skills. Their participations are anonymous. We are willing to review and sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) if requested.

What do we offer?
For those companies that are interested in participating in the project, we offer a summary of the completed study that could help you to understand the impact of AI-based technologies on organisations at industry and regional levels. The outcomes of this research will be reported at academic conferences, in research articles to be published in scientific journals, and in a PhD thesis to be submitted to the University of Manchester
