A new data collection technology that allows labs to better manage and record instrument measurement results and metadata has launched.
Developed in close consultation with lab managers worldwide, the new technology, VIDA connects directly to new and legacy lab equipment to record project data automatically and electronically and transfer it to any LIMS of ELN system.
This eliminates the risks associated with inaccurate data recordings and the large fines labs incur. VIDA has reported 100% accuracy in all lab trials and is currently being used in large labs across the UK and Europe, including universities and national health institutions.
Labs invest a lot of money into LIMS and ELN systems, however the data input is only as valuable as the data that is recorded. VIDA’s accuracy preserves the integrity of lab data and optimises the return on investment for data management systems. VIDA allows lab teams to work on lab data instantly, even if not onsite. Teams can login and resume projects, log time, and manage equipment as VIDA will notify users when calibration is due.
The reliability of data in labs is imperative to pharmaceutical regulations and FDA conduct, however data can lose its integrity across the many touchpoints of scientific procedures. VIDA allows labs to group data by project, team, date, and equipment in use, so regardless of breaks in lab work, the data always remains attributed and accurately recorded to the same project.
Handheld and easy to use, VIDA ensures a seamless flow of data throughout labs and removes the associated risks of human error in data recordings. VIDA will notify you if a recording has duplicated with its troubleshooting capabilities. It also allows you to increase your lab team’s productivity with an equipment overview dashboard, easy login and access with your key card, real-time equipment status information, and minimises downtime due to its electronic efficiency and simple setup.
Joanne Hockaday, VIDA Project Manager, said: “We are encouraging all laboratories to trial VIDA in their labs to experience its data collection capabilities. VIDA is a product that is like no other, it is secure and instant in transferring data and can save labs time and cost. The feedback we have had from labs so far has emphasised the impact that using VIDA has on data recording and transferring.
VIDA is an innovation by Martel Instruments, a new member of Bionow and a thermal printer manufacturer with over 40 years manufacturing experience. Martel Instruments conceptualised VIDA as a solution for laboratories and build each unit in the UK at its in-house manufacturing centre. Martel Instruments’ aim is to support the improvement of data collection in labs, offering full technical support and is committed to its customers for the long term.
VIDA is a product for an international market and is due to launch oversees later this year. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic restricting VIDA’s international launch, VIDA is still available for trial and uptake within the UK and Europe.
Every lab has different needs and facilities, VIDA can be configured bespoke to your laboratory. And is available for a 30 day trial so you can experience first-hand its efficient, time-saving and cost protecting capabilities.
