Boyds, a leading consultancy business supporting the development of pharmaceutical and biotech products and devices for patient benefit, has established an office facility at Alderley Park as part of continued growth plans.
Boyds, which has headquarters in Crewe, and has recently expanded into new premises in Cambridge and Dublin, now employs 20 members of staff.
Alderley Park, a development by Bruntwood SciTech, is home to the internationally-recognised Mereside bioscience campus which offers more than 1m sq ft of high specification lab space, a range of scientific services and the Alderley Park Accelerator which provides a comprehensive programme of business support for start-ups and scale-ups.
Boyds has now joined the Alderley Park community and established an office facility there. The Boyds team plans to have regular attendance to establish and strengthen links with other Alderley Park life science businesses.
Professor Alan Boyd commented: “The North West is a hotbed for medtech and biotech businesses, with our headquarters in Crewe, we are already part of that community.
Making this move into Alderley Park feels like a natural next step for us to help us build on and strengthen our relationships with the region’s businesses in this sector.
“We have some exciting growth plans for 2019, of which this forms an important part. We are looking forward to the benefits of being an Alderley Park business as we continue with our growth.”
Chris Doherty, Managing Director of Alderley Park added: “We are delighted to welcome Boyds to Alderley Park. Boyds is an established pharmaceutical and biotech development consultancy business with an excellent reputation. Their expertise and knowledge that as a group they have will be a significant benefit to the life science companies that we currently have at Alderley Park.”
