Detailed Job Description

Role overview and University context:   

This is a major European research initiative involving 17 partners from leading universities and industry. The project is focused on the development of innovative biomaterials for medical applications. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager with a strong focus on intellectual property to support the effective management and development of the project’s IP assets. 

We are seeking an Intellectual Property & Project Manager to support delivery of the IP strategy and oversee project activities from research translation to commercial application. 

You will work closely with academic researchers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure that project milestones are met and that any arising intellectual property is effectively identified, protected, and developed.

Key responsibilities and duties:   
  • Manage day to day delivery of the project in collaboration with academic and external partners. 
  • Advise on project-specific intellectual property (IP) and commercialisation matters. 
  • Coordinate drafting and execution of IP-related agreements, including licenses and collaboration agreements. 
  • Track project progress, risks, and deliverables, and ensure alignment with agreed timelines and funding requirements. 
  • Responsibility for setting up and managing technology marketing mechanisms, including drafting and updating technology flyers 
  • Liaise with internal departments (legal, finance, research support) to facilitate smooth project execution. 
  • Support the preparation of reports, funding submissions, and stakeholder updates related to the project.
