Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract
Are you looking for a new opportunity and the chance to operate in QC and Technical Operations functions in the diagnostic industry?
An exciting opportunity for a Technical Operations Scientist to join a leading client in the diagnostic field is now available in their Technical Operations team. In this role you will be responsible for performing a variety of assays, and tests supporting functions within Technical Operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Apply technical expertise through performing routine histological techniques such as IHC and microtomy.
- Support the team and assist with planning and preparing lab duties, such as lab and equipment maintenance as well as internal and external ordering.
- Complete Quality Control (QC) and stability study tasks within agreed deadlines, ensuring aliquoting, storage, scanning and shipping and sample archiving are completed in a timely manner.
- Working to defined guidelines and quality standards, adhering to both Quality and Human Tissue Authority (HTA) policies ensuring regulations are adhered to and quality standards are met.
- Work cross-functionally with wider teams such as Research & Development and Product Lifecycle Management teams. Supporting on projects outside of Technical Operations where required.
- Ensure all documentation is well maintained and tests are all recorded, supporting data integrity and reproducibility.
About you:
- Educated to degree level (BSc or higher) in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Some experience working within histology would be beneficial: microtomy, manual/automated IHC staining.
- Experience of working to GMP/GDP.
- Excellent organisational skills and time management.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work to own initiative with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to work in team settings and cross-functionally.
- Understanding of immunohistochemical procedures.
- Some relevant laboratory skills, either from degree level or prior industry experience.
