Hammed Shittu, from Northern Engineering Solutions, was recently awarded member status after going through a series of steps to demonstrate his competence and experience. Over four months, he had to prepare an Engineering Practice Report and a development action plan for review. The final stage was a presentation and interview with two industry professionals of a similar or higher standing.
CIBSE exists to promote the careers of building services engineers by accrediting courses of study in further and higher education, by approving work-based training programmes and providing routes to full professional registration and membership.
Speaking about his new status, Hammed said: “I'm incredibly proud of achieving CIBSE membership, supporting my pathway of joining the UK building services industry. This demonstrates my commitment to professional excellence and dedication to career growth.”
In his role at Northern Engineering Solutions, Hammed is responsible for designing mechanical and plumbing installations across a wide range of sectors. He played an instrumental role in the design of a new ISO 7 cleanroom for Pragmatic’s semiconductor manufacturing facility in County Durham. The factory makes up to 10 billion RFID plastic chips yearly.
Mark Davey, Managing Director of Northern Engineering Solutions, added: “We are delighted for Hammed, as the member status demonstrates an ongoing commitment to both his personal and professional development. His expertise is invaluable to our internal team and our clients, and we are looking forward to seeing his career continue to flourish at Northern Engineering Solutions.”
