Arrow Innovation Programme Extended The Arrow project has been extended for a third round of funding, continuing until March 2026.

Arrow is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) through NECA and DCC, and is collaboratively delivered by Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria and Sunderland Universities.

The programme is designed to offer fully funded innovation support to businesses which are trading or based in the North of Tyne, Newcastle, Northumbria and Durham areas. It involves short feasibility projects (around 10 to 20 days of support). The support may include research and development, one-to-one time with university experts or access to facilities or equipment. The projects are focused on supporting the business with an innovation project which could help accelerate a new process, product or service to the business.  Senior Innovation Associates are a dedicated resource to ensure project delivery, and academic experts are used to provide oversight and guidance. Arrow support, may also lead to new opportunities for future collaboration and the possibility of partnering on longer term projects.

Durham University works with businesses to explore innovative solutions tapping into a wealth of multi-disciplinary knowledge, world-class facilities and an extensive network with focus in areas such as Energy, Net Zero, Sustainability, Fundamental Sciences, AI and Automation.
