The 2019 symposium and industrial workshop of the UK & Ireland Controlled Release Society (UKICRS) will take place in the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University, on 3-4 June. Well known for its highly collaborative and relaxed atmosphere, this annual event is an ideal forum for both young and established scientists to present their latest research and network with academic and industrial experts.
This year’s programme boasts exciting plenary and keynote sessions from Prof. Justin Hanes (Johns Hopkins University, USA), Prof. Kostas Kostarelos (University of Manchester, UK), and Prof. Andrew Owen (University of Liverpool, UK), as well as talks from a number of promising young scientists. The programme also features a session entitled ‘Life after a PhD’, where Dr. Chris Thomas (Cardiff University, UK), Dr. Bianca Price (University of Manchester, UK) and Dr. Eileen McBride (AstraZeneca, UK) will share their thoughts and insights into a post-PhD career in science.
