This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified graduate with a desire to become an integral part of a fast-growing, dynamic, well-funded new company based at Alderley Park, Cheshire. As part of this team, you will be based in the laboratory and manage aspects of product production, delivery and development, all to a high standard and within scheduled time frames. It will appeal to someone holding a science (or related) degree who has either recently graduated or is currently working in a research, production or QC role within a contract research or pharmaceutical organisation, or similar.

About the Role
The core objective of this role is to develop, produce, deliver and undertake quality control (QC) analysis of our innovative PeptiGel® product. Supported by our growing Technical Team, you will also participate to the development of product development and scale-up strategies to help meet the growing demands of our expanding customer base.

You will work in an expanding Technical Team and you will report to the Product and Development Manager.

Key responsibilities include:
• Utilise scientific and laboratory skills in the production and QC analysis of PeptiGel® products.
• Support the development and production of bespoke PeptiGels® to meet customer needs.
• Use your technical knowledge to contribute to the improvement of production and QC, and product portfolio.
• Manage day-to-day laboratory activities including stock-taking and waste management.
• Ensure that work is in accordance with appropriate Safety, health and Environment (SHE) guidelines, quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Manufacturing Practice (GLP).
• Be an integral part of the Technical Team and co-ordinate and collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Teams.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
• Minimum of a Bachelors' degree in a science (or related) discipline, preferably Materials, Biomaterials, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Further advanced degrees are desirable.
• Laboratory experience within the commercial and/or academic sector is desirable, including any placement years or extended research projects.
• Experience in biomaterials development is desired, along with any knowledge of cell culture, drug delivery, or regenerative medicine application areas.
• Experience of meeting and maintaining laboratory health and safety procedures, including for example RAs and COSHH forms.
• Able to critically analyse and use initiative to solve problems and troubleshoot with the assistance of other members of the team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively.
