Iksuda Therapeutics is a drug development company specialising in the development of stable, safer and superior Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs).

Our ADCs target difficult-to-treat cancers, including those that are resistant or refractory to current therapies.

We are building a pipeline of ADCs centred on:

o PermaLink® – proprietary conjugation chemistry for improved ADC stability

o Novel ultra-potent toxins for improved tumour killing

o Novel antibodies targeted towards well-selected antigens associated primarily with solid tumours

We are focused on providing more effective treatments for patients who have few options, with a particular focus on solid tumours such as lung, ovarian, cervix, pancreatic and colorectal.

Our first wave ADC programmes include antibodies with proven premise in ADC formats and novel DNA damaging payloads.

We are working with leading research institutions in the US and Europe to develop exciting new therapies for the future. We are flexible in our approach to collaboration and welcome discussions with research groups who have novel ADC-relevant programmes.

We have developed a series of high-value ADC assets, which are available for collaborative research and license.

Job Summary
Iksuda’s research team is responsible for developing the PermaLink® technology within the field of ADC therapeutics.
Reporting to the Chemistry Team Leader, the scientific team have significant input into the technical strategy whilst undertaking data review, report generation and external presentations to support Iksuda’s technology development and business activities.

Key Responsibilities
• To contribute to technology development strategies and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and scientific excellence
• The execution, analysis and interpretation of experiments and the data generated
• To develop, optimise, scale up/down synthetic chemistry and appropriate technology-based manufacturing processes
• To develop an understanding of the bioconjugation, purification and analysis of antibody conjugates
• To operate process and analytical equipment and ensure its maintenance
• Effective communication of experimental results internally and externally
• To take part in H&S activities such as risk assessments and COSHH forms

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
It is essential that the successful candidate possesses:
• Experience of multi-step organic synthesis and purification
• Hands-on experience of spectroscopic techniques in the characterisation of novel compounds, including NMR, LC-MS and HPLC etc.
It is desirable for the candidate to possess:
• Knowledge of heterocyclic, carbohydrate and peptide chemistry
• Experience of the containment and the safe handling of high potency cytotoxic materials
• Industrial experience
• An interest in biologics
• Have a high level of IT proficiency

Education and Training
Minimum of a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry or a BSc in Chemistry and 2 years industrial experience
