Details: Full-time (part-time considered); permanent contract; based at Alderley Park, Cheshire (due to laboratory role, this is an on-site based position).

Description of the role
Infex Therapeutics are looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to underpin the research activities of our scientific teams. The role will require both strong organisational and some limited scientific skills to work across biology and chemistry teams to support fundamental functions in both teams. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing biotechnology company and support the development of novel antimicrobial treatments by working alongside our scientific teams.
Responsibilities
- Work accurately and precisely to fulfil compound logistics and management, maintain databases, and maintain laboratory stock levels of essential reagents and consumables
- Bacterial culturing and preparation of media to facilitate biological profiling of novel compounds
- Liaising with Purchasing Team and creating purchase orders for solvent and other chemical stocks
- Co-ordinating receipt of goods against departmental inventories
- Distributing goods to relevant departments and logging all deliveries
- Removal of hazardous waste from laboratories daily
- Co-ordinating equipment maintenance with external providers
- Work seamlessly with the biology and chemistry teams
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines
- Organisation of workload
Skills/qualification
- Relevant laboratory experience (ideally at least 1 year of experience) is required for this role
- A further science qualification e.g. A-level or BTEC in one or more sciences.
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy e.g. able to use MS office applications
