Position: Design Engineer

 

Reporting to: Design Manager   Salary: Highly competitive, dependent on experience

Job type: Permanent (subject to a three-month probation period

Holiday: 31 days* (*this figure includes Bank Holidays – three mandatory days taken over Christmas)

Schedule: 8:30am to 5pm inclusive of a one-hour lunch break    Pension: 6% company contributions Location: Haverhill (office, preferred). For the right candidate, remote working will be considered

Candidate
 

Essential: Good working experience of AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, BIM, Excel, previous experience in cleanroom/controlled environment design.
 

Desirable: Documentation production experience (Design Qualifications, Functional Design Specifications, Master Room Specifications, User Requirement Specifications), Understanding of RIBA stages of design.
 

Personal Characteristics: Dynamic, Accountable, Driven, Team Player, Communicative, Organised, Multi-Tasker.

 

Responsibilities
 

  • 3D design and co-ordination of complex projects
  • Following and applying design principles and due process for each and every design package
  • Site Surveys & Client Design Meetings (Onsite & Teams) to progress designs
  • 3D modelling of cleanrooms – through Revit and BIM
  • Documentation production: Functional Design Specification, Master Room Specification, Technical Files
  • Working with suppliers to incorporate their drawings into our design in a timely manner
  • Review and amendment of O&M manuals and As Built Drawings for final issue

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Produce detailed project documentation transmittals and collaborate with the client throughout the Guardtech project lifecycle.
  • Perform clash checks, communicate risks with appropriate project stakeholders, and lead all design-based communications for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to outline and advise on any key technical, project program, or commercial risks involved in any offered project.
  • Develop strong relationship links with key suppliers to promote collaborations and mutual commercial success.
  • Provide installation and commissioning documentation to the site team to ensure efficient and effective installation.
  • Perform QA checks on project-based documentation.
  • Adhere to and improve the Guardtech Virtual Design and Construction framework.
  • Provide support to design operatives to aid in department growth.
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with all project stakeholders, including designers, project managers, customers, installation operatives, and supply chain partners.
  • Work on a number of product development projects where your industry expertise will be essential.
  • Support estimating and bid teams to enable quotes and estimates to be drawn up reliably and timely, liaising with key internal stakeholders and business partners.
  • Understand the business goals, evaluate and prioritize opportunities accordingly, and work with partners and customers to identify additional prospects.
