Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Starting from £25,000 pa, dependant on skills and experience, excellent benefits package plus annual bonuses

The HR team at Alderley Park are a close-knit and welcoming group, providing on-site support to our employee base of around 230 scientific professionals and our colleagues in supporting functions. The Role as our Senior HR Assistant  

As a Senior HR Assistant, you will be providing expert administrative support for the HR team, including employee lifecycle, training and benefits. You will be the first point of contact for employee general queries, having a good working knowledge of UK employment law. In this role, you will support payroll activities in collaboration with the payroll specialist. You will also work together with your local colleagues on projects and initiatives to deliver the HR people plan.

Main Responsibilities

  • Employee lifecycle – processing all new starters, leavers, changes to contract, and other ad hoc employee lifecycle elements.
  • Being the main user of the HRIS system (Workday).
  • Running and analysing/ interpreting reports.
  • Maintaining high-quality employee data both on the HRIS system and within the personnel files.
  • Providing support to the HR team on select employee relations cases.
  • Organising and hosting new employee inductions.
  • Use of PO management software to process HR-related invoices and orders.
  • Coordinating all HR-related training offerings; including scheduling with training providers, assigning appropriate training to employees and keeping accurate records of training completion.
  • Running the work experience student program.
  • Administration and enhancement of the various benefits and initiatives; including employee wellbeing, internal communications and recognition schemes.


Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working within a human resources setting.
  • Working on or achieved CIPD level 5, or equivalent experience.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail, performing work to a consistently high standard, and according to the defined processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Pension on completion (but not subject to) of your 3-month probationary period. Contributions 5% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 5% for the employer. The employee can opt to increase their contribution and the employer will match the increase up to a maximum of 7.5%
