Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Reports to the site Director with functional reporting to the Business Unit Controller.

Job Duties

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate FRS 102 standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, revenue recognition, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting,
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of controls and checks across all departments
  • Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff
  • Establish and maintain financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field
  • CA preferred
  • Proven working experience as a financial controller preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers
