Cyprotex, part of the Evotec Group, are looking to appoint a Junior Buyer to join our enterprising Procurement Team.  This exciting opportunity will be based at Alderley Park in Cheshire and will report to the Procurement Manager based in Oxfordshire.

It’s the calibre of our people that creates our success and this role would be ideal for an experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment.  The successful candidate will provide full procurement support to our Alderley Park based colleagues.   To do this to a high standard, they will be able to demonstrate independence, initiative and collaboration and possess the passion and drive to work in an agile business.

Responsibilities include:

Order management and backup for procurement on pricing and invoicing process, resolving operational day-to-day supplier related subjects

Identify and analyse potential cost savings

Negotiate Capex Purchases and Opex Contracts

Actively support procurement projects especially in E-Procurement and Lean initiatives

Maintain data in the ERP-system, content on catalogues and supplier management

Assist in the budgeting process of Capital Expenditure, support procurement process

Provide support to the Procurement Manager as required

Skills & Competencies - Our Ideal Candidate

Successfully completed BA/BSc degree in Economics or a similar subject 
Min 2-3 years purchasing experience 
High degree of self-motivation, reliability and flexibility 
Good negotiation experience with demonstrable savings
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and of ERP-programs

Experience with E-Procurement/ electronic supplier catalogue management 
Strong numerical and analytical skills 
Ability to assess problems and resolve or escalate to appropriate team members to resolve 
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and collaborate with others 
Excellent communication skills
