Immetacyte Ltd (formerly Cellular Therapeutics) is focused on developing patient specific immunotherapy, allowing the patient’s own immune system to be harnessed in order to fight cancers. Specifically Immetacyte is developing adoptive cell therapy (ACT) and has expertise in manufacturing and engineering of cells in a GMP compliant manner ready for patient infusion. The company has a track record of developing cell therapies with clinical success.
We are therefore pleased to offer an excellent opportunity to join this early stage SME at a dynamic and exciting time in the evolution of the company. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person to the post of GMP Process development Technician. The post holder will be part of a team producing natural and gene modified cell therapies for in house clinical trials and for third party contracts to manufacture cell therapies. The post holder would report directly to the Director of Cell Production – Dr Ryan Guest. Immetacyte Ltd is based in the UMIC Incubator Building, a facility developed to house early stage biotech companies, with excellent facilities. The post is available immediately and is a permanent position.
Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a BSc in Immunology, Molecular Biology or related discipline, will have at least 5 years experience of cell culture and a range of assay and cell characterisation experience ideally with experience of developing GMP cell products. Ideally the candidate will also have experience of molecular biology and gene transfer technologies. The post holder will be a dedicated individual with a knowledge of the field and have a keen interest in translation of scientific research into novel cell therapies for cancer.
