The University of Edinburgh's CHAI Hub are are excited to announce the CHAI Catalyst Competition!

We're offering 3 x £50k CHAI seed awards to support projects focused on causality in AI for healthcare across the UK.

Key Details: 

• Funding: £50k seed award for 6–12 month projects
• Who can lead: UK residents & academic employees/students at UKRI-eligible institutions (who do not currently own/operate a registered business)
• Projects: Early-stage innovations (TRL 3 → TRL 5) with strong potential for UK economic and/or societal impact and relevance to causality in healthcare AI

Timeline:

Applications Open: 2nd November 2026
Applications Close: 2nd December 2026
Finalist Pitching: 25th March 2027 (London)
