Proteintech Hosts ELISA Practical Workshop in Manchester to Support Local Universities and Early Career Researchers
Proteintech is excited to announce its first ELISA Practical Workshop at its purpose-built laboratory in Manchester city centre. The workshop is a hands-on training session aimed at early career scientists and students from local universities.
The workshop offers a comprehensive, interactive introduction to enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) techniques, covering experimental design, protocol optimization, troubleshooting, and data analysis. Participants will gain practical skills to address common assay challenges, including inconsistent results, high background, and low signal, while improving reproducibility and confidence in their experimental outcomes.
“ELISA is a powerful technique, but small variations can significantly impact results,” said Dr Kevin Stacey, Technical Support Specialist at Proteintech and workshop leader. “This workshop is designed to give participants the confidence and practical skills they need to optimise their assays, troubleshoot effectively, and generate reliable, reproducible data. We are especially pleased to offer this to local universities and early career researchers, supporting their growth and hands-on experience in the lab. We plan to offer a wide range of on-site courses, covering several different assays.”
Prof. Catherine Lawrence, Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Manchester added: "Hands‑on training like this gives students and early‑career researchers valuable practical experience, helping them apply techniques confidently in their own work. What makes Proteintech’s approach stand out is their genuine commitment to partnering with the research community - offering training that is not only high‑quality and practical but also rooted in a real desire to support and advance researchers’ own projects.”
This workshop is part of Proteintech’s broader initiative to support early career researchers through education, collaboration, and accessible scientific training. By partnering with local universities, the company seeks to empower emerging scientists with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their research careers.
Researchers and students from nearby universities are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their practical ELISA skills.
The first ELISA Practical Workshop will take place on Friday March 27th. Although this session is already fully booked, you can register your interest for future sessions using the following link: https://www.ptglab.com/news/events/elisa-practical-workshop-manchester/
