ImagiNE: A Regional Gateway to Cross-Scale Imaging Innovation
Innovation depends on the ability to see, measure, analyse, and understand complex systems. Imagine North East (ImagiNE) brings together the imaging capabilities of Newcastle University, Durham University, Northumbria University, the University of Sunderland, and Teesside University to create a coordinated regional platform for collaboration, innovation, and technology development.
The network is built around three interconnected pillars: microscopy, preclinical in vivo imaging, and imaging informatics. Together, these capabilities provide a unique cross-scale imaging ecosystem, enabling researchers and industry partners to investigate systems from the cellular and molecular level through to whole organisms and complex datasets. This integrated approach provides insights that support discovery, product development, validation, and translation.
For businesses, identifying relevant expertise and accessing specialist facilities can often be challenging. Expertise is frequently distributed across multiple institutions, making it difficult to navigate available capabilities and potential partnerships. ImagiNE addresses this challenge by providing a single gateway to imaging expertise, infrastructure, and collaborative opportunities across the North East.
