GUARDTECH are continuing their growing commitment to charitable and community initiatives by proudly sponsoring a major charity football event taking place this summer in Market Harborough.

The East Anglian cleanroom construction specialists are supporting the Be More Fab Children’s Cancer Charity vs Squires Effect Charity Football Match, which will take place at Harborough Town FC’s Beehive Stadium on Saturday 4th July, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00pm.

The event is expected to attract families, businesses, supporters and members of the local community for an afternoon of football, fundraising and entertainment – with all proceeds from the day being shared between the two charities.

The sponsorship forms part of Guardtech’s wider Charity Champions initiative, which has seen the business support a number of regional and national causes over the past 12 months. Recent fundraising and donation efforts have included support for Sarcoma UK, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Bay Hospitals Charity and Movember.

Managing Director Mark Wheeler said the football match sponsorship reflects the company’s culture and values as a family-focused business that believes strongly in giving something back.

“Guardtech is ultimately a family business at heart and supporting causes that make a real difference to people is incredibly important to us,” he said.

“We’ve supported a range of amazing charities over the past year through our Charity Champions initiative and when the opportunity came up to support this event, it felt like a fantastic fit for the business.

“Be More Fab Children’s Cancer Charity and Squires Effect are both doing brilliant work and we’re proud to play a small part in helping raise awareness and funds for them through what promises to be a fantastic community event.”

Alongside the football match itself – which will feature a number of Guardtech employees – the event will feature food and drink stalls, raffles, auctions, face painting, a bouncy castle, music and family entertainment throughout the day.

Organisers are hoping the event will not only generate vital fundraising income for both charities but also bring together local businesses and communities in support of causes that have a meaningful impact on families and individuals facing difficult circumstances.

The charity football match takes place at The Beehive, Market Harborough, on Saturday 4 July from 3pm onwards, with supporters encouraged to attend and help raise as much money as possible for both charities.
