Blacksheep Sciences and Rapid Fluidics Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance 3D-Printed Microfluidic Solutions
Royston, UK, and Gateshead, UK:— Blacksheep Sciences Limited and Rapid Fluidics Limited have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a collaborative framework to accelerate the development and commercialization of advanced life science tools and 3D-printed fluidic components.
The partnership combines Blacksheep Sciences’ expertise in life science product development and commercialization with Rapid Fluidics’ specialization in additive manufacturing, microfluidic prototyping, and transfer to various manufacturing options. Together, the two companies aim to support research organizations and biotech firms in bringing innovative lab tools and fluidic systems to market faster.
"This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to bridge design, prototyping, and commercialization in the life sciences," said Dr. Tom Osborne, CEO of Blacksheep Sciences. "Rapid Fluidics brings exceptional technical depth in 3D-printed microfluidic design with long-term understanding of manufacturing requirements, and together we can deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions to the life sciences community."
Paul Marshall, CEO of Rapid Fluidics, added: "We’re excited to work alongside Blacksheep Sciences to expand access to rapid, scalable microfluidic solutions. By combining our engineering innovation with their commercialization expertise, we’re creating a pathway for customers to move seamlessly from prototype to large scale production."
Under the terms of the MoU, both companies will collaborate on joint project bids, share opportunities for additive manufacturing and consulting engagements, and support one another in sales efforts where expertise overlaps. This non-binding MoU marks the beginning of a strategic relationship aimed at strengthening the UK’s global position in microfluidic innovation and biotechnology.
