Summary of the Analytical Chemist (ADG) role
As the Analytical Chemist (ADG) you will perform analysis and related activities of substances and materials in accordance with safety and compliance regulations such as current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). You will be required to maintain accurate records, prepare samples and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Analytical Coordinator you will be based at our Cramlington site in Northumberland.
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Sylvain Delaunay (sylvain.delaunay@cruk.manchester.ac.uk) at CRUK Manchester Institute to study how diet affects RNA modifications to drive development of metastasis. Xenotransplantation models and multimodal molecular profiling techniques will be used, combined with diverse bioinformatics approaches, centred around RNA biology (i.e., CRISPR-screen, Ribo-seq, RNA-seq, Nanopore-seq). Besides biological material coming from primary cell lines and in vivo mouse models, there's access to patients’ samples to use as discovery and validation of our findings. You should hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacy or a related discipline. A background in RNA biology and mRNA translation is desirable but not required.
