Latest STEM Market Report now available

Each year, in association with New Scientist Jobs, SRG surveys people across the science, technology, engineering and medicine/clinical industries to reveal the latest trends in the UK STEM job market. For the first time, we are sharing deeper insights into the working landscape across this industry.

2020’s most comprehensive STEM Market Report

Despite turbulent economic times, careers in the STEM industry are holding their own according to the 2020 STEM Market Survey, produced by STEM specialist recruiter SRG in association with New Scientist.

In 2019, salaries for scientists, engineers and clinicians dropped in some areas of the UK. But by other measures STEM jobs seem to be blossoming. The people we surveyed report having long, fulfilling careers and nearly all current students of STEM related subjects surveyed say they intend to enter the industry themselves.

The survey, published this week, looks at how people in this sector feel about their working environment and the challenges that arise. It also gives insights into those all-important salary numbers and how to get the most out of the job market.

The survey reached nearly 3000 people working in a spectrum of roles in science, engineering and clinical settings. The overwhelming majority of these were in the UK, but a handful of other European nations were also surveyed.

The report covers issues such as IR35, Brexit, levels of discrimination and gender pay as well as what makes an attractive employer and job satisfaction. To download the report please follow this link
