The two charities NWCR and Tenovus have joined together to fund a PhD in Psycho-social oncology and are now calling on applications from principal investigators. Applicants must have a track record of successful PhD supervision in this field. In addition, research proposals should address the interactions between the physical, psychological, social and behavioural aspects of the cancer experience for the patient and care-givers.
Although this is an open call, applicants must provide evidence of the impact their project seek to have on the cancers that are significant to the combined population of the two Charities – the North West of England and Wales. In line with our shared strategic objectives, applications which provide evidence and impact in the area of early diagnosis or multi-morbidities are also encouraged.
North West Cancer Research is an independent charity dedicated to putting our region’s cancer needs first by funding pioneering research to tackle the cause, improve the care and find the cure for cancer. Since 2000, the Charity has funded more than £40 million of life-saving research to pave the way for a cancer-free future.
